Ahh, Pearls! The first time I entertained them as a fashion accessory must admit, was the result of a dash around Primark after school for those bracelet stacks and oversised earrings (I know some of you are cringing too because you know the EXACT items I’m talking about). Since then the bejewelling of the high street has smartened up a little and there is no way I can say this lightly- I am obsessed with the pearl trend! Originally flooding stores last year attached to every single piece of apparel you can find, this season they are back again and a little more refined. Pearls are a lot more wearable than they look and add a subtle glam to boring everyday outfits. If you are like me and like something a little different =, but a step down from going all out with blinged up, sequinned and diamante everything this may be just the thing! Here are three ways to wear the trend without looking like a walking Christmas tree!
Hats are great, as a transitional piece for the drop in temperature, as the weather slowly turns icy, to bad hair days that we wouldn’t inflict on anyone in the outside world- they’ve got you! From beanies to berets to bowlers, there’s a style out there for everyone and for each purpose and price range. I listed some of my favourites below. I actually brought the black pearl beanie from NA-KD (linked below) last year and it was so perfect it’s still here for the next year as well as this cheeky pearl beanie for Zara at a steal price!
Jumpers are my absolute favourite item, they can be casual or dressy and keep you warm (I’m literally always cold). Although this is a bigger investment into the trend, jumper it’s versatile- it can be layered with dresses and midi skirts, or paired with leather pants and jeans for running errands, I honestly haven’t been able to put it down, I’m seriously in love with this jumper.
