How To Nail The Winter Dress Code Time and Time Again.

Coat – Missguided / Bag – Dior / Hat – Zara / Boots – And Other Stories.

As we get deeper into the British winter time bare legs are swapped for thick tights (except for the brave few), nights in are favored over days out and heading to and from work in the dark is the new normal. During these months is when I’m most content, I get to layer up, pull out my cozy clothing and drink mulled wine in the day time. Unlike summer, for me, winter works better when you have a more structured wardrobe and i definitely have wardrobe  staples that go with everything to help me achieve a put together look which takes minutes to actually acomplish.

My first love for the colder seasons are high necks. I’m talking knitted dresses, jumpers, crops, the lot. A high neck elongates the body and flatters everyone  the contrast looks great with a blazer for work, a coat for casual dressing or even on its own for slightly milder days. Personally, this year I have been dying over knitted jumper dresses_ they work with trainers for a quick errand run, boots AND heels, and that’s the find of diversity I love.

This is the year of the thigh high, and this year I went big on the over the knee beauties. Pointed toes, heels, flats, block heels, the lot! I feel thigh highs are super flattering on everyone and make your legs look 11 million foot long, which at five foot fuck all is perfect for me. I’ve always loved over the knee boots but this year I have been braver opting for different style and prints like sknakeskin and patent rather than just black  I’ve paired them with oversized jumpers to shirts, even over leggings, but with slightly chubby thighs I tend not to wear anything underneath them but socks. For anyone concerned about the fit of these boots, ASOS make them for ‘Tall’, ‘Petite’, wide feet, half sizes, and different thigh sizes, as well as some that can be tightened. How great is that?!

Who doesn’t love cozy outwear? Coats have upped their came this season and it’s all about mid calf lengths. Camels, Browns and Black are all the rage. This year i’m loving teddy coats and structured wool numbers to boot. They go with all outfits and even work with the ‘all fur coat- no knickers’ mantra.
